Looking back at a milestone year for Solarwatt UK & Ireland
As we reflect on the close of 2023, we look back on Solarwatt’s incredible journey over the last 30 years. Solarwatt remains as innovative today as it was in 1993 and is unwavering in its commitment to developing quality European solar solutions.
This year also marked an exciting chapter for Solarwatt UK & Ireland, as we successfully expanded our operations, scaled up our expert team, and opened our new office in Shepperton, Surrey. Despite the ever-challenging market fluctuations, together, we remain united in our vision of advancing the energy transition throughout the UK & Ireland and feel more ready than ever to meet the needs of our installation partners.
Office opening & team expansion
In late Spring, we announced the opening of our new office in Shepperton, Surrey.
The expansion of our operations in the UK was a significant moment for us. Our new location allows us to better serve our customers in the UK and provides a strategic base for continued growth. We are committed to investing in the local community and building a strong, talented team to continue to support operations in the UK. The whole team played a huge part in the renovations, and we were all proud of the results. We love our new Solarwatt home!
This year we welcomed Internal Sales & Logistics Manager, Denese Cloughley, and Commercial Sales Administrator Emma Townsend, joining Sales Team & Logistics Coordinator, Trinder Bal and UK Sales Director Neal Goddard all based in Surrey. Leading the team, Managing Director, UK & Ireland’s Pol Spronck said:

10 millionth solar panel installed in a family home in the UK.
At the start of the summer, we marked another milestone moment for Solarwatt as the 10,000,000th photovoltaic system was installed on the rooftop of a single-family home in Suffolk. The quality installation expertly designed by premium partners SOLARhome consisted of 18 PANEL VISION Glass-Glass solar panels that will generate a total output of 7.2 kWp. The homeowners wanted to invest in a quality PV system that provided a reliable, future-proof energy system that reduced energy consumption and generated sufficient energy to support their switchover to electric vehicles. The installation of our long-lasting, high-performance panels was expertly handled and completed in just one day! The couple are delighted with the results. Office opening & networking event: SolarFEST
In early autumn, we invited esteemed partners, colleagues, and guests to join us for the official opening ceremony of our UK office. It was a truly memorable occasion from the ribbon-cutting reception at the office opening to an action-packed agenda our guests enjoyed networking sessions, industry body presentations, festival-themed entertainment and wonderful food & drinks served in style, from vintage food trucks. The feedback from our guests was overwhelming, and it was a day the whole team will remember for a long time to come.
Solar & Storage Live
In October we took part in the UK’s premier renewable energy event Solar & Storage Live which with over 450 exhibitors was bigger than ever this year. We joined industry game changers, innovators, partners, and customers in Birmingham for four days of thought-provoking sessions and panel discussions, not to mention the thriving exhibitor zone where we showcased Solarwatt’s new premium quality range of solar panels plus Battery flex, Manager flex & EV Chargers. Other highlights included our keynote presentation on day 2 where Managing Director, Pol Spronck gave an insightful presentation on 30 Years Of Sustainable Solar & Powering A Better Tomorrow’. We were also proud to co-sponsor the Solar & Storage Live Awards and both Solar Energy UK’s ‘Networking Celebration’ and Alternergy’s wonderful ‘Curry Night’. It was great to share worthwhile networking evenings meeting with old friends and making valuable new connections.
