Maintenance and servicing

A photovoltaic system requires almost no maintenance, as the solar panels are cleaned by rain at the recommended minimum inclination of 15°.

To avoid yield losses, we nevertheless recommend regular visual inspections of the module surfaces. This applies in particular if the module inclination is less than the recommended minimum inclination of 15°.

Particularly coarse dirt (e.g. leaves) can cause performance-reducing shading and should therefore be removed. Only clean the glass surface with soft/low-scaling water, a water-ethanol or water-isopropanol mixture. Use soft, non-abrasive cleaning cloths. In exceptional cases, you can also use commercially available detergent in the specified concentration. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or metal objects, as these could damage the particularly hardened glass surface.

CAUTION
Check the modules thoroughly for cracks, damage and loose connectors before cleaning. Cracked or broken modules can cause an electric shock due to leakage currents. The risk of electric shock increases if the modules are wet.

The electrical cables (if accessible) should be checked regularly for damage, corrosion and tightness. Pay particular attention to BGV A3 and DIN VDE 0105-100.
