Waste disposal

Defective or old solar panels must be disposed of properly and must not be disposed of with household waste. The disposal of solar panels is regulated in the European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The WEEE Directive is a national directive, which means that each EU member state has its own legal regulations and practical handling for the sale and return of PV modules. The respective national disposal directive must therefore be observed.

Solarwatt fulfills all obligations arising from the WEEE Directive in the respective EU countries in which Solarwatt acts as a distributor. The corresponding national registration numbers are listed in the table at the end of the chapter. In addition, Solarwatt cooperates with partners who specialize in the recycling of solar panels in order to enable the best possible reuse of our solar panel materials.

This also applies to the disposal of packaging, insofar as national disposal guidelines exist.

If required, please contact info@solarwatt.com or your installer to discuss all further details regarding the environmentally friendly recycling of your solar panels.
