Restarting and black-starting

    Restart

    Details on how to use the inverter display can be found on the "Structure and scope of delivery" page.

    To restart the inverter, please follow these steps:

    • Confirm Press the button (tick) on the inverter display for 3 seconds
    • Select Stop
    • Press the POWER button on the battery (top pack) (the relays in the packs click open audibly)
    • Switch off the DC switch on the battery (top pack)
    • Switch off the DC switch on the inverter
    • Switch off AC fuse GRID
    • Switch off AC fuse BACKUP (if available)
       
    • Wait at least 10 seconds
       
    • Switch AC fuse GRID on again
    • Switch the AC fuse BACKUP (if present) back on
       
    • Switch on the DC switch on the inverter
    • Confirm Press the button (tick) on the inverter display for 3 seconds
    • Select start

    While the inverter is waiting for the battery to be reconnected, "Waiting..." will be displayed on the LCD screen.

    • Switch on the DC switch on the battery (top pack)
    • Press the POWER button on the battery (top pack)

    After about 20 seconds, the relays in the battery will engage, making an audible click. The inverter will then start communicating with the battery.

    The inverter will then return to normal operation.

    The battery will also then return to normal operation (LEDs on the individual packs will flash green, top LED on the top pack will light up green continuously)

    Black-starting the system

    A black-start is necessary if the battery has been completely discharged during a power failure and the battery management system has therefore switched off the battery.

    Initial state:

    • AC fuses GRID and BACKUP switched off
    • DC switch on the inverter is set to 'OFF'
    • DC switch on the battery (top pack) is switched off
    • POWER button on the battery (top pack) is off, i.e. not pressed in

    To black start the system, please follow these steps:

    • Switch on the DC switch on the inverter
    • Switch on the DC switch on the battery (top pack)
    • At the same time as switching on the POWER button on the battery (top pack), press and hold the B-start button until the relays in the battery close and the inverter starts (approx. 30-40 seconds)
       
    • Release the B-start button

    The top LED on the top pack will light up green continuously.

    The inverter will start and enter normal operation.
