Big win for Associated Clean Technologies - Contractor of the Year

We are proud to announce that our partners Associated Clean Technologies Ltd were awarded 'Contractor of the Year' at this year's Solar & Storage Live Awards. On 23 September 2025, the UK solar and storage sector gathered at The Vox, Birmingham, to honour excellence at the Solar & Storage Live Awards. 

Across 13 categories, companies, projects, and individuals were recognised for their achievements in innovation, inclusion, community benefit, and large-scale deployment. This year’s shortlist highlighted the diversity of the industry, from pioneering contractors and innovative technology developers to grassroots community projects and emerging leaders.

The well deserved accolade presented by the BBC's Matt Baker was accepted on behalf of the team by Founder and Operations Director Nicola Newby who commented: "Being recognised alongside so many outstanding companies and professionals is a true privilege"

Earlier this year the award winning team completed the ground-breaking York Minster installation project which included 184 state-of-the-art Solarwatt glass-glass photovoltaic panels installed on the cathedral’s South Quire roof. These high-efficiency panels will produce nearly 70,000 kWh of renewable energy annually — enough to power 41 average UK homes — while reducing the Minster’s carbon emissions by an impressive 13 tonnes of CO2 each year. This is a project that exemplifies the perfect balance between sustainability and heritage preservation - expertly planned and executed by the team.
