GARAN Information for Installers
What is the EU-GARAN label?
The EU GARAN label was introduced to provide consumers with transparent information about manufacturer warranties and the shelf life of products. Manufacturer warranties supplement the statutory warranty. The GARAN label makes these warranty terms easily recognizable at a glance.
Solarwatt provides all current GARAN documents, links, and accompanying information in one central location HERE.
What does this mean for me as an installer?
The warranty is provided and guaranteed by the respective manufacturer. The GARAN label provides information about this warranty and its duration.
As an installer, you are not the guarantor. Your role is to pass on the provided information to your end customers or make it available to them.
End customers must be able to review the GARAN information before making a purchase decision. As a sales partner, you must therefore ensure that your end customers have access to the relevant warranty and informational documents.
What information must be provided to end customers?
Solarwatt will provide you with the necessary documentation for the affected products:
- GARAN Label
- Warranty Terms
- Information on the Statutory Warranty
- Additional information and links
When do the requirements take effect?
The GARAN requirements take effect on September 27, 2026.
As of that date, the relevant information for the affected products must be available and accessible to end customers prior to purchase.
